Gerald R. Ford (1913-2006)

Gerald R. Ford, the 38th President of the United States, passed away on December 26, 2006 at the age of 93. President Ford was a three year letterman (1932-1934) while playing center and linebacker on the football team for the University of Michigan. He was a member of the undefeated Michigan teams that won the Big Ten and national championships in 1932 and 1933. President Ford was named the team's MVP in his senior season of 1934. The University of Michigan later retired his number "48" jersey. U of M's School of Public Policy is named for Ford and the Gerald R.
