Luxury boxes at the Big House???

Now that Jim Herrmann is gone and U-M fans are no longer able to debate the topic whether he should stay or go, the Wolverine faithful have a new topic to discuss interminably: Whether luxury boxes should be added to the Big House? The debate really caught fire a few weeks ago when the anti-box side was featured in an article on the front page of the Sports section of the Sunday edition of The New York Times. The anti-box people have a website, of course, which can be found here:

The site does a fairly good job of laying out the case of the anti-box forces. However, I'm not sure I'm convinced. To me, tradition is the winged helmet and the fight song. The stadium needs to be able to change with the modern times to accomodate both the fans and the players. Michigan does not want to get into a position where we get left behind the other Big 10 schools because we are too tied to tradition.
